the story is wierd! It features a fat man taking care of a teenage "nappy- wearing"girl while suffering from depresion.
Due to things he did in his past, a good friend of his called Charlie got murdered. And he blames himself.
Now, its important to know that the story is told in FLASHBACK, so he see what happening in the present (2006) in Boston, Massachusetts, but we also see what happened 3 years ago in a Japanese island called Hashima.
There is a time stamp whenever the flashback occurs;
May 9, 2006, 1409 EST - month, date, year, time. EST is eastern standard time, used in the east coast of america.
some readers say that Charlie dies twice - well, they couldnt understand the flashback, that a memory was being replayed of that moment. im trying to enphesis this as i write.
The central character, Jif (wierd name to stick in the head), is phycologly scared, and is fat as a result. the story tells us why he is like this. The girl is is taking care of is INCONTINENT; doesnt knoiw why to use the toilet!!! - thats why she has to wear a diaper/nappy! But also, becuase of this, he treats her like a baby, and she acts like one. Infact she is fifteen years old. wierd huh? it gets worse. a year ago he got terribly drunk and married her in a LAS VAGAS Chappel. Because the marrige is binding, inspite of her age, he is scared that divorsing her will not only bring about this incedent into the public eye, but will also hurt the girls feelings.
The girls name is JAPANESE. She is YUZUYU. It is pronoucned YOU- ZOO- YOU. for those who could understand!
there are other wierd names too. A mad bodyguard called IFFY. The british ambasador called VIN. A Jap called ROCK (Rock is japanese for six).
